Judging
Recognizing Effort and Excellence...
The purpose of the Sugar Creek Science Event is for students to learn more about science, share their talent, gain confidence, and have fun working with and learning from others. With this in mind, all student participants will receive a t-shirt, medal, and a certificate signed by the principal recognizing their efforts and accomplishments.
First, second, and third place ribbons will be awarded to students to recognize outstanding projects in each grade. Projects will be evaluated on the following:

Judging will take place during the school day on March 11th.
The format of the judging will look a bit different this year in order to comply with county and district COVID-19 mitigation strategies. Judges will first view the student's 2 minute video presentation. Then the judges will spend 2-3 minutes with each student for a short question and answer time to assess what the student has learned using an evaluation rubric.
Examples of questions the judges might ask include:
All students contributing to an award-winning project will receive ribbons. Ribbons will be attached to winning projects prior to the Imagination Fair Event on the evening of March 11th. All decisions of the judges will be final.
Judges will be volunteers from the Madison area community who are familiar with science and the Scientific Method. These individuals may be college students, parents, researchers, and medical and other science professionals.
